Around Bude
The 6 Glorious Beaches on our doorstep, Crooklets, Summerleaze, Northcott, Sandymouth, Duckpool and Widemouth, for bathing, rock pooling, scrambling, fishing, crabbing, exploring, body boarding, surfing, walking, running and horse riding.
Bring your wellies, your swimmers, your wet weather gear, your bobble hat or your sun screen, whatever the weather there really is something for everyone here.

And don't forget Bude's Christmas Day Swim every year, raising funds for the Surf life saving club. Rules are shoulders under and no wetsuits...would you dare????? Warm yourself in the hot tub after, you'll have earned it!

20 minutes drive up/down the coast you'll find Hartland Quay, Tintagel, Boscastle and some little gems in between such as Trebarwith Strands if you follow the coast road between Bude and Camelford.

Footsteps in the sand
Widemouth Beach 5.6 miles from us, another popular tourist beach just outside Bude. A favourite for surfers and holiday makers with some great places to eat nearby. Horse riders like this beach too apparently!
The Bude Sea Pool, 80 meters in width for serious swimming and gently sloping beach area for children. Hugely popular with tourists and the locals and looks spectacular from the cliffs 2.4 miles from our location.
Tastes devine mackerel straight from the sea. We'll tell you where this super spot is close to Summerleaze beach.
When the tide's out there are great expanses of sand and pools
Bring your board, fun for young and old practising on the beach and in the rock pools.
4.4 Miles from our location, Duckpool. Great for rock pooling and stepping stoning across the river. Coastal path runs north to Morwenstow and south to Sandymouth. National Trust footpaths around and Stowe Woods nearby.
Bring your bucket and spade for plenty of rock pooling fun on this beach. Look out for gobi fish, crabs and shrimps.
National Trust Beach at Northcott Mouth 2.4 miles from our location. Coastal path joins with Crooklets beach and Sandymouth and a bridleway crosses the cliffs here. At big low tides throughout the winter months you can have an exhilarating gallop along this vast expanse of beach.
